Before their groom
Please can I ask you to ensure your dog has been toileted before their appointment. If your dog does their business in the lane leading to my salon can I please ask you to pick it up, I can give you a FREE poop bag.
I ask that all dogs come in on leads.
Cancellations
I understand that it is sometime necessary to cancel an appointment. I ask that you contact me as far ahead as possible, I maybe able to give your unwanted appointment to another client.If less than 48 hours notice is given or no notice or persistent offenders there will be a charge of 50% of the dogs full groom price, this is because another dog could have been booked in instead, rather than leaving that appointment empty.
Appointment Times
I must politely and firmly request that owners are 'on time' for their dogs appointment. what only seems just a few minutes late to you, actually prevents me from working to schedule.I will have several dogs attending the salon everyday and if one is late in, it will put myself and other owners out for the rest of the day. Being just 10 minutes late in plus a further 10 minutes to talk about your dogs grooming needs when you arrive, means I have lost a minimum 20 minutes of the time allocated to groom your dog, This will mean every dog attending that day will not be started on time ,or owners coming in with their dog will be kept waiting. Late arrivals do cause a considerable problem. I understand traffic and unforeseen hold ups. I reserve the right to re-book a new appointment for your dog if you arrive late for your booked appointment.
A collection time may be given to you when you drop your dog off, please can you collect on time. Or please leave me a contact phone number and I will phone you half an hour before your dog is ready to be picked up.
De-Matting Policy
I will ATTEMPT to de-matt the odd small matt in a coat if I feel the dog will not suffer ant discomfort. When a dog is presented to me in a severely matted condition the coat will be shaved under the animal welfare act, it is against the law to cause unnecessary pain and suffering to an animal.Their coat will grow back and with proper care and grooming should avoild a shave off at the next groom. Many dogs are traumatised by the unnecessary hours of dematting, putting them off grooming for life.I consider shaving the whole coat off an act of kindness. Once the coat is removed, the skin can be red due to the lack of air circulation and dirt that has accumulated under the matted coat.Occasionally there are sores or infection that may need veterinary treatment. Dogs tend to scratch and rub their skin after shaving, this is quite normal, however some dogs can over scratch and this may lead to broken skin. If in doubt, speak to your vet. I will always contact you prior to clipping to discuss the procedure, if it has not already been discussed and authorised previously. This procedure will incur extra charges.Please inform me when booking your dogs appointment if your dog is matted or knotty.This will allow me to allocate more time for their appointment.
Aggressive dogs or difficult tempermament
You must inform me if your dog has ever bitten or has aggressive tendencie, when booking.This will allow me to allocate reasonable time for your dogs groom.I will always try my best to work with dogs of this nature . A soft muzzle will be use if necessary to save myself from serious injury.Safety of both groomer and the dog is paramount, if a dog shows unmanageable aggression I reserve the right not to groom a dog, in such an event, the owner will be contacted immediately and asked to collect their dog, this may mean the groom is not completed.
Safety
Whilst in my care, all dogs are treated with the utmost care and attention. I will ensure your dog is safe and secured in the bath and on the grooming table. I will stop the groom if a dog becomes severely anxious, distressed or aggressive and I will only carry on with the groom if I think it is safe to do so.Dogs are never left on their own in the salon.
I do not use drying cabinets or cages.
I work to a one dog in the salon rule, so no dog fights can happen.
Payment
Sorry Cash only. An estinmated price will be provided at the time of booking and is subject to assessment of your dog on the day.Some cost adjustments may be necessary due to dogs coat condition and behaviour.
